Lumis Platform Privacy Notice

This notice covers the Lumis platform account, audience profile, favorites, follows and watch-history features. The Lumis Privacy Policy separately describes the prototype/app and the shared camera-based viewer’s profile, reaction processing and saved readings. Prototype-specific required demographic fields and private-profile descriptions do not describe the optional public platform profile.

Information used for your account

Supabase provides authentication using email/password or an identity provider such as Apple or Google. We receive your account identifier, email and available sign-in profile information, not your provider password. Session credentials are stored by the app or browser to maintain sign-in. We record the account identifier, accepted document versions and hashes, acknowledgment and timestamp to document acceptance.

Audience profiles and viewing features

We store the profile fields you provide, including display name, username, biography, genres, portrait and cover image, plus your publication and sharing choices. Favorites, followed filmmakers and playback history or resume positions are stored to provide those features. Public profile publication and sharing of favorites or follows are separate controls. Before publishing, avoid adding information you do not want publicly visible. Public information can be copied by others.

Camera and reaction information

Account signup does not enable your camera. When you enable interactive viewing, camera images are processed on your device to quantify visible reactions. Lumis does not record or upload webcam footage. Quantified reaction summaries and viewing events may be saved through the shared viewer system under its displayed permissions and the Lumis Privacy Policy. Those records are distinct from public audience profiles. Accepting this notice is an acknowledgment, not consent to new commercial sales, marketing or camera processing.

Storage, purposes and recipients

We use account and profile information to authenticate you, provide selected public profile and library features, save viewing progress, respond to requests, protect the service and maintain acceptance records. Cloudflare hosts the platform, stores platform records in D1 and handles uploaded assets through platform storage. Supabase handles shared accounts and viewer reaction records. Resend provides applicable account emails; Apple and Google participate when selected for sign-in. Providers may process request metadata such as IP addresses, browser details and security logs. Processing may occur in the United States and other countries where providers operate.

Published profile information is available to the public according to your settings. Private information may be accessed by authorized Company personnel and service providers for the stated purposes, or disclosed where legally required. A filmmaker’s agreement with Brief Candle LLC does not substitute for required viewer notices or choices. No new sale or sharing of personal information is activated by this signup acknowledgment.

Retention and requests

Platform account, profile and library records are retained while needed to provide your account features, unless removed sooner through available controls or a verified request. Agreement acceptance records may be retained as reasonably necessary to document compliance and resolve legal claims. Shared viewer reaction records follow the retention periods in the Lumis Privacy Policy; those periods do not imply identical automatic expiry for platform favorites or profile records. Backup and security-log deletion follows applicable operational and legal retention requirements.

You can edit or unpublish your audience profile, change its sharing settings, remove saved films, unfollow filmmakers and clear watch history through the platform. Contact frank@briefcandle.co to request access, correction, deletion or other applicable privacy rights. We may verify account ownership before acting. Signing out or turning off the camera does not delete saved information. Mandatory privacy rights are not waived by this notice or the Audience Terms.
